Hello there...
Long time no blog. Well I've been busy... OK? We played a show at JR Beans in Bristol, RI last weekend (June 30th). Great time with many great people showing up to hear us rock. Thanks Katie, Kerin, and Donna! Thanks to Heather's sister Jen for taking some sweet shots of the band! :)
A huge thank you to Sarah for helping me create this Promo ad. I've been posting it all over Myspace. Sorry people! I really need to get the word out!
Have you seen Mike Doughty's blog? Not only is he one of the best singers/songwriters/rockersoftherockityroll... but he's a damn good blogger! Apparently he was recently ripped off by a french singer (copied his "I hear the bells" exactly). And his hipster comments made me re-examine my own hipster-hating ways. Check it!
More to come in the next blog: Floating down the White River on the Fourth of July and more!

Well I said I was going to write about music on my first blog entry and then I just blabbed about my personal life in the past umteen entries. So here we go. Back to the music.
My band (the Jordohn Bileau Collective) has two shows coming up. The first is Saturday, June 30 at J.R. Beans in Bristol, RI. The second is Saturday, July 14 at the Penalty Box on North Main Street in Providence, RI. We're really trying to fill up the place at the Providence show, so... invite anyone and everyone you know!
Looking for great music online? I love listening to online music (web stream) sites at work. Here are a few of my favorites:
Independent and San Francisco based, Soma FM is a great source for all kinds of music (lounge, indie, downtempo, trance, techno) but the lounge station (called Secret Agent) and the Indie station are my personal favorites.
I also dig on a couple local stations that have streaming broadcasts. WERS fm is an independent, progressive radio station based out of Emerson College in Boston. You'll need winamp to hear the station, but hey... it's free! They have indie and world music on during the day, reggae at night, and the hip-hop starts at 10 PM. Another favorite is WRIU , an independent college station based out of the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI. This is one of the most ecclectic stations around... jazz/be-bop/blues in the AM, classical around noontime, indie in the afternoon, and then the BEST hip-hop plays from 3-6 PM every weekday. After that they rock out to bluegrass and folk.
And lastly... what I've been listening to lately. Well let's see....
Last night Sarah and I were jamming out to some Michael Franti and Spearhead. If you haven't heard his stuff before, definitely check it out. Very positive, socially conscious lyrics and great production. Here's a good album to start with:
Lately, I can't get the "Young Folks" song by Peter, Bjorn, & John out of my head. I've heard it on WERS and the indie station in Vermont this past weekend and it's the catchiest bastard you'll ever hear. I just realized that I missed them at Coachella. That's what happens when you have too many options at one festival. Apparently I'm gonna have to download this album when I get home:
I'm still jonesin for some live Strange Fruit Project. I have all their albums and they're one of the best hip-hop groups to come out in a long time. Lyrics are very positive and highly intelligent (think Tribe Called Quest, Common, Mos Def with a southern feel and R&B influences). Anyways... they were scheduled to play at the Living Room here in Providence (5/21) with the LIFESAVAS and the show was cancelled at the last minute. I was watching their tour schedule and I guess the Vermont show was cancelled. I was going to try to check the Boston show (5/19) but that was my birthday and, as previously noted, I was still recovering from my first hangover that day. lol. If anyone saw them live anywhere, let me know!!! My favorite album of theirs is:
OTHER STUFF I'VE BEEN DIGGING:
Bobby "Blue" Bland - This guy is the OG master of blues. Everyone steals from his classics whether they know it or not!
K-Os (hip-hop) - All of his albums (Exit, Joyful Rebellion, and Atlantis) are dope. A hip-hop virtuoso who can sing? Yes.
The Decemberists (indie) - The Crane Wife album - critically acclaimed, for good reason.
Feist (indie) - "The Reminder" is the new album from the amazing vocalist you know and love.
The Rapture (pop/punk/dance) - Check out "Pieces of the People We Love" - great disc.

Want to hear some new music? Dig sick tight flows? Then check out my man Joe Driscoll. I knew Joe from back in the day at Syracuse University. He was more of an acoustic act back then and he has come a LONG way with his fresh hip-hop/rock/folk/funk jams. Do yourself a favor and check out the fully produced Joey D tracks at his myspace:

Hey kiddos! Thank you for reading my blog! I've been receiving some props from some of my friends and it's really great to know that people actually read this thing! Shout outs to Sarah, Aimee, Luke, and Pam... thanks for stroking my blog ego. ;) And I can always be reached at vermont22us@gmail.com if anyone else wants to send comments. :) Now... on to the good stuff...
My band (the Jordohn Bileau Collective - Rock, Soul) has been quite busy over the past few months. No shows really... just full on recording. Well, those efforts have paid off my friends! We finally have a finished product and, although not fully mastered, it sounds pretty dope. Check out some of the tracks here:
The band features Jordohn Bileau (singer, songwriter, guitarist extraordinaire), Al Iannuccilli keepin it real on the bass, and yours truly on the drums. The three tracks here are all originals, but we do rock a cover tune here and there. We're planning on a Worcester/Boston/Providence summer invasion with an empasis on the Ocean State. If you have connects, know any bands that want to share a bill with us, etc... let me know!!!
